My ProcureCon Story by Duncan Brock:

Duncans Story At a Glance

First Year Attended: 2013

How He’s Participated: Attendee & Speaker

ProcureCon Highlights: Over the years Duncan has been involved in chairing, running round table discussions, interviewing CPOs on stage and consulting on content and format suggestions during the production process.

I was invited to chair a forum day and the main conference and I have been coming back every year after that.

I first came to ProcureCon Europe 3 years ago and since then, ProcureCon Europe has been penciled into my calendar at the start of the year.

The idea to join actually came after seeing other colleagues in the industry attending ProcureCon events and their feedback was very good. I became more interested as I found the quality of speakers at the conference is very high and it’s an excellent chance to build up my network with senior procurement professionals.

The event has impacted my career at different levels and it’s definitely extended my network.

Over the years I have been very involved chairing, running round table discussions, interviewing CPOs on stage and consulting with Tom Webber (Conference Director) on content and format suggestions during the production process.

ProcureCon Europe has definitely extended my network and the roles I’ve had at the event including interviewing high-calibre CPOs on stage has helped build my personal profile. Attendance is good which gives the events a busy feel, senior decision makers attend and speak plus there are very few last minute substitutions. Each year participants represent a broad mix of businesses from around Europe.

Over the years the event has progressed with more CPOs and a broader European presence.

The procurement community continues to grow as more companies and public sector organisations recognise the value that can delivered from managing 3rd party spend more effectively and from creating better relationships with the major suppliers. New people continue to enter the profession and by attending ProcureCon Europe they are able to quickly understand what other companies are doing and take away ideas to implement in their new roles.

If you’re new to Procurement take time out of your busy schedule.

Take the time out of your busy schedule to attend at least one ProcureCon Europe conference to learn what other companies are doing, build your personal network and discover new ideas and approaches that you can implement back in your own business.

I first came to ProcureCon Europe 3 years ago and since then, ProcureCon Europe has been penciled into my calendar at the start of the year.
